Trickster--this book looks really cool

In the vein of my liking of so many things forest animal, there is a little new graphic novel out that tells 20 some Native American tales which include the intriguing character of the Trickster, in all of its various forms.  I'm picking up some good GDR lit this week too.  Should be some good summer reads.  Also, here's the link to the ALA article about the authors and book background.

Guts! A Pinata Show AKA I'd Hit It

Here's the official flyer my good friend Trevor List graciously designed for the show.  This is an idea that has been a long time coming to fruition. It's crazy it's finally here.  Show starts at 6pm, Champagne Toast at 10pm, breaking to immediately follow.  It will happen people.

lustron homes-ohio history

i subscribe to the Ohio Historical Society's blog feed and today i was reading the update on Lustron Homes that were developed here in Columbus, in the post World War II/Cold War era.  This period in history, in all parts of the world, is just one of the most interesting times culturally, in my opinion.  I love reading literature and learning about pop culture items from the late 1930's through the 70's, so it's no surprise, really, that this caught my attention.  Here are some more image links to an OhioPix search on Lustron Homes

PINATA SHOW

THE NEMESIS LIST--a new item has been added: Biscoff spread

I bought this evil Belgian cookie spread on a late night grocery shop at the Kroger on Cleveland Ave and 161.  I was pretty sad at the time, so I can't take full responsibility for consciousness, but I still should have known better-it's European and in spread form.  Needless to say, that jar was impressively emptied and subsequently made its home on the Nemesis List of my life.  Right next to Nutella and Peanut Butter. It was amazing while it lasted Biscoff...
