New Swoon: The Antikamnia Calendar

my recent trip to d.c., and an unsuspecting lesbian bar on a sunday, introduced me to this little thing the Antikamnia calendar.  According to BibliOdyssey they were whim drawings from a St. Louis pharmaceutical student, Louis Crucius (and if that truly truly is dude's real name, i could not be more satisfied with the fitting nature of such fact) who sold most of his series to a local chemical company in the late 1800's, The Antikamnia (anti-pain) Chemical Company.  It was the company that compiled them into a calendar, and thankfully they did, because I love love love them. and even more thankfully, UCLA Biomedical Library is providing all of the 1900 edition for download, in high res ready for printing, link to photos. yess!

Today: I am fascinated by the 2nd Paper Revolution

So I know E-Paper is around, but as I continue to read up on researching futures this semester, I have to say one of the technologies I'm currently getting excited and fascinated with are the possibilities of the E-Paper movement.  Below is a good article from 2007 outlining the history and what is now the current "future" of Electronic Paper, just in case you wanna join me in my nerdiness here.
